Follow websites without RSS using the XPath RSS-Bridge
I currently use RSS-Bridge to follow Telegram channels and read new messages in Miniflux. RSS-Bridge is a really cool project that tries to provide RSS (or ATOM, JSON, HTML…) feeds for sites that don’t do that directly.
One site that doesn’t offer feeds, for instance, is the news site of Hetzner Online, my hosting provider of choice. I want to be informed about news via a feed, though. For this I even started to create a new bridge.
But that seems to be unnecessary now. Today I discovered the XPath-Bridge.
With this bridge you can easily create a feed for any website using XPath selectors. The appropriate XPath selectors can also be found quite easily using Firefox by clicking on “Inspect” in the context menu and then copying the XPath from the corresponding HTML element.
Cool stuff. 👍 (Although it would be cooler if all websites offered feeds.)
