⚠️ This entry is already over one year old. It may no longer be up to date. Opinions may have changed.

So, now June is also over already. Already half of the year reached – crazy. So here’s my review of the past 30 days and what else is on my mind:

This month I didn’t blog very extensively, mostly just sharing a few links or micro-posts. But that was also because I spent a lot of time, which I could have used for blogging or other things, on the development of my blog software. Maybe sometimes a bit too much time, so that I neglected other things, but I can really immerse myself in it. It’s not uncommon that I start programming a bit and already several hours have passed. And to see your own work improve and mature is so much fun!

But what probably also played a role are the high temperatures we had this month. Several days it was over 30 degrees Celsius and the only bearable activity was sitting at a desk in a darkened room.

Other activities this month (besides sitting in the dark room and working or programming) were visiting my girlfriend, visiting my grandmother, and installing Windows 10.

Why Windows 10, when I was and am a Linux fan? I was tempted to discover the other side again. And I have to say, so far I am quite pleased. I had some problems with the installation and had to upgrade my storage first, but since the installation everything works fine. I am super productive with my setup and can program, blog, surf the web or make video calls without any problems. Especially the latter works much better on Windows, not only because there are fewer problems when pairing Bluetooth headsets.

At the end of May, my assumption was that I would have to wait a few more months to get my vaccination. But at the beginning of June the vaccination priority was lifted and with a bit of research and also luck I surprisingly got two vaccination dates. They are an hour’s drive away, but it was a spontaneous appointment with the better vaccine. Probably someone had cancelled an appointment and they were looking for a replacement. But since I don’t want to brag, this post here is also the only mention of my vaccination on this blog.

Nevertheless, I’m pretty thankful that it unexpectedly worked out earlier. After all, July may also be the last month I’m able to work from home. Besides returning to the office, there are other changes at work that will play a role in the near future. We’ll see how things play out. To be honest, I have little desire to go back to the office. For one thing, I find commuting annoying, and for another, I prefer to have a quiet and familiar environment. And eating whatever you want at home for lunch isn’t bad either. And not to mention the high risk of infection in the office. Besides, communication with my colleagues via Skype or Teams works out pretty well.

Let’s see.
